Away early to visit the spectacular Punakaiki "Pancake" Rocks and before returning to Greymouth to climb aboard the TranzAlpine Rail Journey from Greymouth to Christchurch, a scenic feast for the eyes. If you have done the TranzAlpine Railway before a lovely option is to stay on the bus and cross the mountains via Arthurs Pass stopping enroute to Christchurch to view the impressive formations of the Castle Hill Rocks.
